Product FAQ:

Where are Fields Footwear shoes made?
Every one of our shoes is individually hand made in Villena, Spain, who’s footwear industry dates back to the 19th century. Our factory specializes in infant’s shoes and has been family owned for generations. We have great relationships with our teams on the ground, and make several trips a year to maintain those relationships and ensure proper handling of our unique product.

How did you choose the style names?
We named each style after a Spanish city to pay homage to their motherland and the cities we’ve visited in our extensive travels through Spain.

Are your shoes orthopedic shoes?
No! Fields shoes are stylish, biomechanically sound shoes for the normally developing foot. They give maximum flexibility while protecting your child’s foot from the elements. If you have been recommended an orthopedic shoe, you should seek a specialist’s advice.

Why are the insoles green?
Why are Louboutin soles red??? Fields Green is our signature color and we want to let everyone know it!

Can the shoes be worn without the insoles?
The shoes are meant to be worn with the insoles, but if you prefer the look and/or if your child is reaching the end of a particular size’s range, take the insole out to extend the life for a few more weeks!

What is the Clear View Sole made out of?
Our Clear View Sole is made out of thermoplasticized rubber, or TPR. TPR is a great choice because it doesn’t require the use of BPA and is made without PVC (and thus phthalates). TPR is frequently used in the dense “rubbery” areas on teethers and spouts of sippy cups. What better material to make our soles out of as we know everything ends up in little one’s mouth!

Why did I notice slight differences in construction from one shoe to the other?
While the utmost care is taken in crafting our shoes to look uniform, each individual shoe is made by hand, which can lead to slight variations in stitching, seams, etc. This adds to the uniqueness of each pair of shoes, which we embrace wholeheartedly and hope you will too! That being said, any flaws you may notice on the surface on the leather itself are a result of natural blemishes in the hides and not manufacturing defects.

Why can’t I search for specific Girls’ styles or Boys’ styles?
Most Fields Footwear styles can be worn by either girls or boys. When choosing amongst the colors, you are only limited by your imagination!

The style I would like to order does not come in the color I want, do you fulfill custom orders?
At the moment we are unable to accommodate custom orders. However, please let us know at contact@fieldsfootwear.com if there is a shoe you would like in a color or material that is currently unavailable. We are always open to expanding our options!

Why don’t you offer patent leather styles?
While patent leather is very pretty for special occassions, it is essentially plasticized leather, which takes away the most important feature of leather – its breathability. In addition, it tends to make the leather very stiff, both properties we don’t associate with healthy feet!

Sizing FAQ:

How do I know what size to order?
We know it can be hard to determine your child’s size when online shopping. The best way to get an accurate fit is to go by measurements, not just age or random size numbers that vary from brand to brand. Click here for a complete guide on our unique sizing. If your child is in between sizes, we usually recommend buying a size larger; the extra room won’t be there for long!

Are larger sizes available?
At the moment, we are only catering to baby and toddler-sized feet.

My child has chubby feet. Will Fields Footwear shoes fit him/her?
Yes! Our chubby-footed beta testers can attest to this (or at least their parents can)! Certain “open” styles will fit better than others (we’ve found the booties can be challenging with the most extreme cases). In addition, you can remove the insoles which will increase the volume of the shoe and accommodate your child’s fuller foot better.

Is there variation in fit between the different styles?
All Fields Footwear shoes are made on the same last, or mold upon which the shoe is constructed. With the exception of extremely chubby feet, if your child fits any one Fields Footwear style, they should fit them all just as well!

Care FAQ:

Are Fields Footwear shoes washable?
We do not recommend machine washing our leather and suede shoes. Please refer to our Care Instructions for full details on how best to care for your Fields Footwear shoes.

Are Fields Footwear shoes waterproof?
Like other 100% leather shoes, Fields Footwear shoes are not recommended for rain or snow. They may be worn outdoors, but preferably on dry surfaces. Please refer to our Care Instructions for full details on how best to care for your Fields Footwear shoes.

Why aren’t my child’s metallic shoes as shiny as when I first purchased them?
Metallic finishes are made by pressing a foil onto the leather, so time and general wear may cause some dulling to the finish.

I have a newly mobile baby or toddler and the leather on the toe of the shoe seems to be wearing more than the rest of the shoe, is this normal?
Yes! The color will wear off slightly on the toe if your baby is crawling or starting to walk and dragging their toes on the ground. This is the nature of leather and completely normal.

Orders/Returns FAQ:

Where is my order?
You can check your order status here. Please allow up to 3 business days before your order is ready to be shipped. Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with your tracking number on it. That confirmation email and all correspondence from us will go through the email that you used when you ordered, so please check that email’s inbox and spam folder.

What if I need to change my order?
Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to change your order after it is placed (for example, we can't change size, shipping address or combine multiple orders).

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards as well as payments through PayPal.

Can I return or exchange something? How do I do that?
Please visit our Shipping & Returns page for complete information and a link to our Return Authorization page.

What if my items are damaged or defective?
We work hard to bring you great quality, but we know we’re not perfect. If you ever receive a damaged or defective item, please let us know at contact@fieldsfootwear.com within 7 days of receipt of your order.

How do I return an item purchased at a store?
We do not accept shoes purchased from retail locations. You will need to return your shoes to that location, in line with their return policy.

How do I exchange an Item?
We do not offer exchanges. Please follow our return process and then place a new order.

Can I receive a free return label?
We do not offer free return labels at this time. Customers are responsible for return shipping fees. Refunds are issued back to the original method of payment once your shoes have reached the warehouse. We do not refund original shipping costs.

Can I return or exchange shoes received as a gift?
We can only offer returns if the shoes were purchased from our online store. You will receive store credit for the current selling price. Store credit for gift returns does not include return shipping fees.

When will I receive my refund?
Please allow up to 10 business days after your return order has been received by our warehouse for your refund to be processed. Allow 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement.

What if I forgot to include my return packing slip?
The return packing slip is important as it notifies us who to refund. If you have forgotten to include this slip, please let us know at contact@fieldsfootwear.com.

Shipping FAQ:

How much do you charge for shipping?
We are happy to offer you free ground shipping via USPS on all full-priced orders. Want it faster? Upgrade to express service for an additional cost (currently unavailable). Free shipping to all US States, excludes overseas territories.

Where do you ship?
Currently, Fields Footwear only ships to addresses in the United States.
